چکیده

This study is a part of an on-going Danish research project HYACINTS. A key outcome of the project is a fully coupled model setup using the HIRHAM regional climate model and the MIKE SHE hydrological model with the intent of improving hydrological predictions. We here present results from the initial studies prior to the coupling performed to aid in the decision of optimal climate model domain size and resolution as well to parameterize the hydrological model. These studies showed that the size of the domain is more important than resolution in producing accurate simulations of precipitation and temperature by the HIRHAM model over Northern Europe. The HIRHAM simulations also showed better results for temperature compared to precipitation. Further, the initial studies showed the sensitivity of parameters in the MIKE SHE model to be highly dependent on the vegetation type and groundwater table depth, which is essential information in the calibration of the distributed hydrological model.

The effect of climate change on flow regime using two meteorological and hydrological indices

An important and fundamental issue in Iran is to utilize water and to avoid wasting it. Therefore, climate change can be considered as an effective factor on water resources. The most tangible climate change phenomenon is drought which is much important to be identified. In this study, the effect of climate changes on flow rate in Bashar River, Shahmokhtar station of Yasouj city was evaluated u...

Future climate change impact on hydrological regime of river basin using SWAT model

Hydrological components in a river basin can get adversely affected by climate change in coming future. Manipur River basin lies in the extreme northeast region of India nestled in the lesser Himalayan ranges and it is under severe pressure from anthropogenic and natural factors. Basin is un-gauged as it lies in remote location and suffering from large data scarcity. This paper explores the imp...

Climate change impacts on spatial-temporal variations of reference evapotranspiration in Iran

Global warming due to greenhouse effect is expected to cause major changes in climate of some regions. The change of climate is likely to have a profound effect on hydrological cycle. Evapotranspiration (ET, as the major component of hydrological cycle, will affect crop water requirement and future planning and management of water resources. This study was conducted to investigate climate chang...

Numerical Investigation of the Impact of Inlet Channel Numbers on the Flow Pattern, Performance, and Erosion of Gas-particle Cyclone

The effect of adding extra inlet channels on the operation of the Stairmand Cyclone has been investigated numerically. The Reynolds stress model (RSM) and Eulerian-Lagrangian method were used to investigate the complex turbulent flow and cyclone performance. The impacts of one-way coupling and two-way coupling models on the cyclone efficiency and the calculation of cut-off size diameter were ex...
